I ran a TA31F for a few years. I wouldn't mind getting another one someday. They're just so freakin' expensive.

Yeah, ACOG's are not cheap. I got mine as a gift for helping a friend out but he purchased two (one being mine) and got them both right at $900 each. That is a good deal since they usually retail around $1,200 on up. I had already researched the ACOG's and I had been saving up for one...in the end, you definitely get what you pay for. If you really want an ACOG...I suggest you save up for one as they are worth every penny. I absolutely love mine!

He got both ACOG's at http://www.manventureoutpost.com

Here is the TA31F on the website (you have to call for pricing...but it should be around $900)

I sold my TA31F a few years ago to help finance another project. I probably should have kept it, but you know how that goes.

That makes sense... put it on a 45 degree mount like Jerry Miculek does... Plus then you buy them separate and save up for each one...

They're easy to fall in love with. I wish a spare $1,500 would fall in love with ME first, so I could get one!

I know this thread is old, but I figured I would post here rather than create a new thread. I just zeroed my new ACOG TA33G-H this morning. It looks like it will fit my needs perfectly. This optic will replace the Aimpoint comp M3 when I am tracking wounded animals. As a hunting guide I usually carry my trusty 40 year old model 700 in 30.06. But, I decided to carry something a little lighter. The only time that I really need a rifle, as a guide, is if we have to track. A light rifle with a lower powered scope is ideal. Shots are typically inside 100 yards and in the brush. The Aimpoint suffices, but I found myself wanting a little magnification. The TA33G-H fills the bill.

This combination of optics compliment my LaRue Tactical PredatAR 5.56 very well.

What makes them so cool is that if you learn to use them with both eyes open (some people I have talked to seem to struggle with the Bindon aiming concept) you can switch from upclose to magnified and back pretty quickly. Love my TA31F......

Congrats on your purchase though!

Yes, it is the way to use these optics. I shoot the same way with my Aimpoint. That is the way I shoot my bow as well.

Would you like to swap your Comp M3 for a Trijicon TX30, perchance? :D
