Plus the weight on the firearm itself. They'll make mag couplers for these monstrosities too im sure.
This.. When I had a C-Mag it made my AR feel like it weighed at least 15 pounds... Now the 60 seems like a very good idea...

Handeled them yesterday. Look good, 100 round mag is quite large. 3.3 pounds loaded. 60 round mag isn't much longer then a 30 round.

They have their place...which probably won't be for civilian uses. I can see their usefullness in military and some police situations.

Don't the AR mags work in the SAW also? Might be a good use for the 100 rounders

You can use it as a kneel down mono-pod........

Using a M4 mag in a SAW is more of an emergency type thing that you are forced to do. They don't feed very well at all.

Also having a 100 mag sticking out the side of the SAW would be much more cumbersome than the 100 "nut sacks" that most are already using (which actually allow you to carry closer to 125 rounds)

I have to agree with several of you guys. The 60 round mag looks like it may have potential in the LE market with it being not that much longer than a standard M4 magazine but the 100 round mag I'm still a bit skeptical!

Yeah room clearing wasn't intended to be performed with a 18" 5lb mono pod hanging off the bottom of your carbine.......

Those nut sacks are awesome compared to the plastic drums.

30rd mags are worthless in a SAW. These new Surefires might be geared towards the fact that they are trying to adopt heavy barreled M16s to replace the SAW.

I still think the SAW is a great weapon system.

Like the MArine Corps IAR program... using HK 416's obviously not the exact 416 but one made for use in a Automatic Rifle role
