Reloading set up

Postby Jared89 » Sun Jan 11, 2009 9:03 pm

Well I have been looking at getting into reloading for awhile and decided to order it today when i found out midway had all of the stuff i need besides .223 dies IN STOCK!!!8) . $267 for everything (besides powder primer bullets and .223 dies). I went with the Lee breech lock kit seems like a good way to get started in reloading. So i will have to wait to get my 50beowulf. All i need now is a tumbler and .223 dies  .

Nice, I've got all the equipment to reload all the major pistol rounds, but I still need some rifle dies. I've got an OLD school RCBS turret press that my dad used to use.

I haven't bought any components yet...might end up being my next big purchase. The main thing that will probably keep me from reloading .223/5.56 is the brass - I probably have close to 1000 lake city brass right now (and about half that much factory loaded) and I'm not looking forward to dealing with the primer pockets.

Here's mine with my RL550B, I just got done adding the cabinets to the bench. Right now I'm just loading for my pistols but once I get some 5.56 dies and a case trimmer I'll be loading for my AR.... Image

Nice! I need to add cabinets now to my bench. I also have a 550B setup like yours on the strong mount. Need to get dies and the other gear to load for my new build.

Lol. My bench took about 30 mins to complete, I planned it out one night then went to Lowe's and found out the made all the straight cuts for free, so I had them do it. Everything basically came home pre-cut already, save for the tops of both shelves that I had to notch out for the post when I put the bench together.

But I don't have shelves, yet. That's gonna be my next project.

I just started with a idea of a set of cabinets 36" tall that would fit on the top of my already existing 6' bench.... I knew I need room for my vibratory cleaner, quick change assemblies and shelves strong enough to hold boxes of bulk bullets... After I got going I started adding stuff like doors which led to having to build a face frame, adjustable middle shelves which added more time, etc... I really like how it turned out and I have a new found respect for cabinet makers.... I'm now trying to figure out how I can add some sort of sliding shelf for my vibratory clean that would allow me to pull it out and still be solid enough to stand up to hours of vibration....
