Mike KAC info please.....

Mike or anyone else, since you have experience with KAC gear and what not, can you please explain to me (sorry for sounding dumb here) what makes KAC gear so good? What is it about the URX II rail that would make it worth so much more than let's say a Larue or DD rail?

I appreciate anyone's input here, KAC is new to me, to be honest only started to hear of them recently for civilian stuff and it's like all of a sudden they're stuff is and is wanted everywhere. I know they have been in the military game for a while but what gives, we all know the military doesn't use what might necessarily be the best quality product, there's always a budget involved.

Part of the "allure" I guess is that it was/is hard to come by since they mainly had contracts to the mil. When the AR really became popular during the Gulf Wars everyone wanted the same stuff the mil was using.

Today the RIS/RAS, vfg's, are pretty common, the stuff like the scope mounts and buis are still tough to come by. Why the higher prices? Don't really know, except that as long as people buy it they sure aren't going to lower it.

Today I think the biggest thing that made KAC known to more people are 2 guys....Chris and Travis. Everyone wants what the Magpul guys are running in their video.

What rail is he running?
What lower is that?
What muzzle device is Costa running?

Ok thanks mike, I was just curious if the next BCM upper I buy is worth $200 more for a URX II rail vs the same upper with a Larue Rail.

And I agree on both accounts, the prices not coming down with demand, and everyone running what Travis and Chris have.

My plans are for the URX II rail and a BCM 11.5" barrel for my SBR

Ya, it's $200 worth of cool I guess. Not many will pay that for a rail and the LaRue FF's are more common.

Oh ya, part of the cost is that the front sight is built into the rail.
