Spike's Fake Can

For you and your rifle

Spike's Fake Can

Postby SandmanKC » Sun Nov 01, 2009 7:38 pm

So, don't know what rock I've been hiding under, but just stumbled across fake cans made by Spike's Tactical. I'm debating on buying one just for the hell of it, and to possibly make my friends take second looks at my AR. I was trying to some research on them, and have read many articles on many forums. A lot of people are really mean when it comes to someone putting something "fake" on their gun. I think that's just stupid. Hell, the AR platform lends itself to so much customization, you can do whatever you want, so do what makes you happy. I'm hoping to get a real can in the future, and SBR, but right now, funds aren't there, but I CAN afford $40 for some fun.

That being said, I was just wondering who all (other than Randy) has experience with them? If you've got one (doesn't have to be a Spike's) can you post some pics?

and to Randy... to think, I've been drooling over your Spike's AR with a can on it for so long, and never realized it was a fake, until I read some of your comments on XDTalk. Which one do you have? I'm looking at putting it on my AR which has a 16" HBAR, and 10" Troy FF Rails.

That one in an SD1 and this one is a CAR2.

Both are basically barrel sleeve's so you actually lose the length of your flash suppressor making the rifle a little shorter. I don't have the rifle in the pic anymore but they make for a cool look....Her is link for a KAC look a like.----> http://www.mfiap.com/smallarms/m4-fake.htm

I have some stuff on order from spikes and I have a fake can coming for a specter build that the can will go back and tuck under the rail a little bit.

I think it looks bad ass, and I don't care that is not real.

I think they look cool. I hate when you ask a question and get crapped on. I wouldn't ask this on the "other" board. Mercmar might make yet another "tacticool" "rambolista" joke. I'm sooo sick of the word tacticool. As if none of the add ons actually do anything.

No, haven't been on XDTalk yet today. Got on briefly before BSF tonight. This is the first forum I go to now. Then The USN, then that "other" place.

I think so too Dustin. I don't care for member bashing for any reason. Like Mike said in the rules, make the site your own and we have. I believe that is what makes this such a great place for knowledge and constructive opinions.
:chest: Thanks again Mike!
